Identify what you have

Paper wasps build open, umbrella-shaped nests under eaves and decks. Bald-faced hornets build large, enclosed paper nests. Yellowjackets often nest in the ground or inside walls.

Why DIY removal is risky

Disturbing a nest can trigger many stings at once. Ground and wall nests are often much larger than the entrance suggests, and stings are a serious risk for anyone with an allergy.

What to do now

Keep children and pets away from the area, avoid blocking the entrance, and don't spray into wall voids, which can push wasps inside the home.

Getting it removed

A technician can safely treat and remove the nest and look for other nests around the home.
